Here's how we #GetHerThere: craft. We learn that for rural women, education should always be accompanied with job opportunities that can get them out of the cycle of poverty. Craft provides a viable opportunity for mothers to pursue economic freedom while taking care of their children at home. It offers a livelihood option to nearly 30 million people living under poverty. Whatever @sukkhacitta makes gets reinvested back in our communities. Funding much-needed training and building craft schools to break the cycle of poverty and create long term change. Through our audited (by @buildanest and @bcorporation), fair trade standards, our artisans finally know how much they should get for their hard work. This have lead them to 60% increase in income.
