I normally leave the eulogies to the master Questlove but it’s difficult to estimate the amount this man has impacted my life (and all of yours of course). I am frequently brought to tears by the sheer beauty of his compositions. Hell, I choked up this morning just reading the titles of his SEVENTY top 10 hits. In all of my best childhood memories growing up in the shadow of Motown, his songs are playing in the background. Without Lamont and his writing partners the Holland bros - I would almost certainly have taken a very different path in music and maybe in life. Thank you Lamont Dozier. Rest in melody. It’s the same old song but with a different feeling now that you’re gone.
