Saga prefecture sake pairing dinner @restaurantdaniel. Saga prefecture is known for amazing nori seaweed, Imari ware and now sake! @sagasakesaga x @restaurantdaniel collab dinner started with light crispy sake on the rock, which was refreshing and perfect after walking in the humid nyc streets. Then the same tropical sake paired with Pressé of Scharbauer Ranch Wagyu Oxtail and Foie Gras Smoked Eel, Young Beet, Horseradish Kendall Cream. The tropical note of Koimari Junmai Daiginjo worked perfect together. Seafood w Mitsutake crisp junmai daiginjo was a no brainer, but what brew me away was classic beef tenderloin (@scharbauerranch wagyu) with Yano umami aged kimono junmai) mushroom like funk and umami was such a compliment to the beef. Many of you know that i don’t drink, but this sake paring dinner truly opened my minds to more possibilities of sake as meal companion. Also if you feel sake is just kinda boring and too sweet for savory meal, go explore variety of sake out there. Even there’s sake looks like rose and goes well with typical French dark chocolate dessert🤯 There are so many different flavor notes available in the States right now, thanks to years of effort by importers and promoters, and sake fans like you!
