I think about the stubborn 65/35 stat re: division of domestic, unpaid labor in cis-het relationships all the damn time. @manginokate22’s book is first I’ve read that accurately diagnoses the mix of societal and relational issues that all it to persist *and* offers compelling and actually useful strategies for how to change it and why, even if you feel like you’re kinda sorta making it work, it matters for what patterns you’re modeling for kids in your life. It’s a book for grandparents and siblings and partnered people and people who aren’t yet partnered and parent and non-parents. It’s particularly a book for people in unequal cis-het relationships but also queer relationships with unequal division of unpaid labor. In truth, it’s a book for pretty much everyone, because the way we think of and value unpaid labor has consequences for all of us. Link in bio and stories.
