It is officially winter in Zion National Park! Be careful, trails and walkways can be pretty slick this time of year!
When visiting the park in the winter, make sure to plan ahead. Zion regularly gets below freezing temperatures in the winter, but with proper planning you can still have an amazing time in the park. Look out for icy conditions. Traction devices are recommended for all trails in the winter and make sure to watch out for overhanging ice on cliffs and waterfalls. Also, be sure to dress in layers and wear waterproof clothing. While snow does not usually last long before melting in the sun, nearly half of Zion Canyon’s annual precipitation falls during the winter months. Stay dry and stay warm!
