Costa Rica ✈️ Canada ::: Our first trip north since we drove into Mexico last October! My (Brittany’s) family had been planning a little reunion for a while, the first time seeing my Grandpa since 2019 because of COVID. Logistically I didn’t think it would be possible for us to go, so I said we couldn’t. But at the last minute, Caspian and I flew into Toronto and surprised everyone. 🥳 It was so good to see 98-year-old Grandpa, my parents, my two brothers, their wives, and Caspian’s only cousin. We also got surprise visits from my newlywed cousin, and my favorite uncle and aunt from Alberta who I hadn’t seen since my high school graduation. People often ask what the family thinks about our long trip around the world. Some might initially assume Eric and I don’t have family we’re close to. But my family is incredibly close—my brothers are some of my favorite human beings on the planet. It’s never easy to be apart, but we make an effort to stay in touch (@marcopoloapp is used constantly) and that keeps us close no matter where we go. I took a lot of video of the trip portion, which involved failed flights, many other flights, and several bus rides. We’ll try to put something together for YouTube. As always, Caspian was an amazing traveler.
