Ash & Sam first locked eyes while standing in a university tutorial as they nervously scanned the room for someone to join for a group project. As their eyes met, they gazed downwards and were both pleasantly surprised to note they were wearing the same black cons. They instantly connected and felt like old friends, but when that class ended, they parted ways. Every time they enrolled in a new subject, they would scan the names and faces, hoping to see each other. But it took two long years until they stepped into a classroom and locked eyes again. This time they exchanged numbers. Ash had travelled to Armidale where Sam was living for that subject, and when the class was over she began her long drive home, only for her car to immediately break down. They both suspect the other had tampered with said car in a bid to keep her from leaving. We’ll never know for sure who was responsible, but she ended up staying and they fell hard and fast for one another. Or fast and furious, if you’d like to keep with the car subplot. Although neither are from Bellingen, it’s a place that holds a lot of memories for them and they knew they wanted to get married here.
