A graduate at BT has been awarded £20,000 in compensation following insensitive jokes from her boss. Fignola Alexandre, who is a black woman, was left ‘deeply distressed’ when her manager Craig Warner made jokes about her deportation and Black swimmers. A judge at her employment tribunal said 'this was the first time in her career that she became aware that her skin tone could impact on how she was perceived in the workplace.'
