Monkeypox is not spread through sex alone, and can be spread by people who are in monogamous relationships or by people who are not currently sexually active. To prevent monkeypox, the CDC recommends you avoid close skin-to-skin contact (kissing, sex, hugs, cuddling or the use of utensils) or touching items like the bedding, towels and clothing of a person with monkeypox symptoms. As always, please make sure to wash and sanitize your hands after potential exposure. If you believe you are experiencing symptoms, please quarantine at home until symptoms subside. Monkeypox symptoms and infection often subsides and goes away even without treatment, and is very rarely fatal.
