hello! just your average playa pilot-turned-accountant-turned-telemarketer here to recap on what was BM2022. unprecedented bumpy roads, insane white-out early build conditions, and global warming induced heat waves made this years burn pretty SHITTY. truly fighting for survival while having the best time of your life (lol). 12 days on playa and my body is broken, my wheels have come off, I’ve lost a bunch of stuff incl my mind.....but regardless my heart is a buzz ✨✨ 7 burns & this was by far my hardest, going solo was a new experience. from driving a box truck while towing an art car, to learning to work with generators in the quest for a cool AC sleep.....going to hell station to pump gas.....it wasn’t at all easy. i spent the first 3 days crying and purging all the feels from the last few years. planning weddings, DJing, hearding a crew of faffing cats with a megaphone.....all part of the experience. to the lady who thought I worked the VIP line at a certain art car with mega lazers, may an ill-fitted suit and a dated microsoft headset forever be your guiding light to getting up on the bus 🤣 i’m grateful to have this place of self expression and discovery, where each year my community grows....so many friends, so many laughs! this is why I keep coming back over and over....just like a big family reunion with a bunch of creative FREAKS ☺️. no limits on what is possible.....and no amount of photos will ever capture the micro-moments of ingenuity, wit or humor. (I took about 10 pics.....still allergic to iPhones on the playa!). it is incredible how resourceful and resilient burners are. and how infectious the feeling of mass compersion is 💓 just reserved my box truck for 2023....can’t wait for the next!!
