FIELDWORK to advance the #VITAL pilot projects in the Venice Lagoon. Salt marsh reconstruction begins following in-filling of areas with dredged sediments. The department of civil, environmental and architectural engineering (ICEA) at @unipd has specially designed instruments to monitor compression and subsidence, in collaboration with colleagues of the geomatics lab. Sampling was also carried out to a depth of 10m below the lagoon bed to better understand variability and stability in the area.
