Learn more about this NEW modern Japanese izakaya spot in Brooklyn New York called @cotraizakaya They're a cute neighorhood spot located in Gowanus. They're dishes are all delicious and this is the perfect spot to eat family-style. The dishes are affordably priced and you can order an assortment without feeling like you drained their wallet. Not to be missed is their cocktail menu which has Japanese influenced signature cocktails. WHAT I ORDERED Addictive Cabbage. A very light and crisp starter that serves as a great refresher in between bites of the heavier dishes. Sake Kasu Caesar. This Japanese-style caesar salad was an imagined take on the classic American dish. With market greens in place of lettuce and crispy lotus chips in place of croutons, all the flavors and textures felt familiar yet new. Eringi Karaage. This was one of my favorite dishes (though give me mushroom ANYTHING and I'll eat it). Perfectly fried and crunchy, it's like the equivalent to getting a basket of bread at the beginning of your meal because before you know it, the whole thing is gone. Scallop Carpaccio. This was a great starter as well with it being light and fresh. Perfect to share between 2 to 3 people. Takana Garlic Fried Rice. Definitely order this to pair alongside all of your mains. Soft Shell Crab Mazemen. This is also one of my top recommended dishes to order. It was perfectly fried with a nice crunch and well seasoned. 📍 Cotra in Brooklyn. 451 Carroll St, Brooklyn NY 11215 New York City things to do. #nyc #nycfood #nycfoodblog #newyorkcityfood Brooklyn food spots. #brooklynfood #wheretoeatinnyc #newyorkfoodspots Restaurants in Brooklyn, NY.
