Grasso, BD Barcelona, Bolon Edition, 2018 “Grasso is more than fat.” Inspired by the imperfection of human skin, our Grasso collection for BD Barcelona allowed us to imagine furniture of extreme visual comfort—but also overflowing, fleshy, and enveloping. This “shaggy” edition, developed in collaboration with Bolon for the 2018 Salone del Mobile, further explored the original concept of imperfection through a unique textile. Strands of hand cut space-dyed yarn wool, hang from the bulging “skin” of the furniture, which is literally oozing out of its own frame. In 2020, our chunky Grasso won the ADI-FAD Gold Delta Award—making us the first American studio to receive Spain’s highest honor in design!
