Meet the Industry Experts joining us for our Fashion Circularity panel discussion as the second installment of our Fashion Citizenship Series! Moderator: Nicole Bassett, Co-Founder of @renewalworkshop Bassett and The Renewal Workshop are dedicated to finding industry-wide solutions to move fashion towards circular business models. She has years of experience prior to founding The Renewal Workshop leading sustainability and social responsibility efforts for brands including Patagonia and prAna. Panelist: Maria Luisa Martinez Diez, Public Affairs Director for @globalfashionagenda Responsible for managing Global Fashion Agenda’s policy engagement strategy, Martinez Diez helps ensure concrete results. Between past work in the circular economy and current work forming policy recommendations, Martinez Diez’s work is very closely tied to policy and circularity in fashion. Panelist: Dr. Joanne Brasch, California Product Stewardship Council (CPSC) With a PhD in Industrial Economics and Environmental Analysis and a Master’s in Textile Science, Dr. Brasch’s extensive education and work experience have all focused on global industrial systems for food and fibers. At CPSC, Brasch leads projects that promote EPR and Product Stewardship in the textiles and clothing industry. Panelist: Marisa Adler, Consultant at Resource Recycling Systems (RRS) A Waste 360 40 Under 40 award recipient, Adler is a senior consultant at RRS. Most recently she became a founding member of American Circular Textiles (ACT) policy group, a formal working body to represent the interests of circular fashion and its stakeholders. Panelist: Joy Massholder, Innovation Associate at @fashionforgood At Fashion for Good, Massholder is responsible for scouting, screening and scaling innovators developing Circular Business Model solutions. She is also orchestrating the Untapped Agricultural Waste Project, bringing together innovations that use agricultural waste to produce fibers for textile applications.
