Sometimes I feel this underlying buzz of stress. It hangs in the background like static not quite loud enough for me to notice or address it but it’s always there just making everyday things a little drowned out. I think about it when I notice it but finding the root cause is like catching a tiger by the tail. It’s ambiguous. It’s sneaky. But it lives in my house with me. And I really want it to move out. In my life I’ve found the things that help me with this are different in different seasons. And in this season I know that when I feel that stress static it’s taking time off my phone, being present with my family and re prioritizing taking the foot off the gas. Prying the foot off the gas actually. In my book I wrote a chapter called Ordinary Joy and shared the journey I took, after realizing getting all the big things got me nowhere, back to basics. Back to the everyday glimmers of joy that are right in front of me. And it was ground breaking for me. So here’s a little reminder to look up. To refocus on the regular good stuff. Because for me it turns down the stressful static. Here are my glimmers of ordinary joy this week 🤍☁️.
