The Monastery of Rousanou was built in 1545 on the towering rock formations of Meteora and now operates as a nunnery. A short but breathtaking drive from the nearby town brings you to the base of the monastery and then a steep climb up 140 steps brings you to the entrance. If you think it looks beautiful from the outside, the inside is unbelievably beautiful and filled with intricate artwork.
