Review: Conversations On Love by Natasha Lunn
__
I am not in the least bit shy to say that every person should read this book. Seriously. It is broken up into personal reflections by the author and interviews with various writers, professionals and specialists. It reads like a poignant memoir. It includes so many aspects of love that no matter where you are in life, I truly believe you will leave with new shiny gems of feeling seen and understood. I left with new insights in romantic, familial, faith, friendship and even lost love.
It is just so REAL.
To me, this book felt like a best friend’s knowing look that is all at once perceptively understanding and deeply challenging. A hot cup of ginger tea— comforting and gut-kicking. There are aspects of love and loss that I think we assume only we ourselves experience, until we realize that these unique yet universal experiences are what make and bind us all as humans. Certain realities this book presents can feel slightly offensive to our romantic views, yet Lunn offers grace in providing her own experiences. I left feeling lighter even with my slightly less tinted rose colored glasses affixed.
There are way too many underlines to share, but I chose some of my favorites for you all 💗 I not-so-secretly hope they convince you to give this one a try.
