These bills relate to reducing Montana’s wolf population by 80%, enacting a wolf bounty, legalizing wolf neck snares, blocking bison from future restoration, and more. These bills come from small private special interest groups in Montana and are not based upon science-based wildlife management. ⁣ ⁣ “Detailed wildlife policy should be science-based and set by the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission with the input of the public, not by the Legislature. These bills will harm the image of hunters and hunting in Montana. For decades Montana has been a leader in science-based wildlife management in the US.
