Q+A with @shayparesh founder of @shaydebeauty 💡What inspired you to start Shayde? I’ve struggled with hyperpigmentation since my early teens & felt there were few products geared towards skin of color. Often, the products I used would make my hyperpigmentation worse or not help at all - there was nothing for the sensitivities people of color face. Working with established brands, I saw firsthand how skin color was treated as an afterthought—not just in marketing but down to the formulation process. My commitment drove my journey to launch & develop SHAYDE BEAUTY to address unmet skincare needs for people of color. 🙌How do you pay it forward to support others? We Pledge 1% of sales to the preservation & restoration of the environment. We also love to partner with like-minded startups to collaborate on marketing effects! 👀A founder you admire is... @jurhyu of @herocosmetics @Jenjaconetti of @ipsy ✒️Our Thoughts... 1. I tested Shayde’s Vitamin C Brightening Serum with Green Tea & Kojic Acid. I applied 2-3 drops in the morning, targeting dark spots & acne scars on my face. The serum blends easily into the skin, & after a few weeks I did notice the dark spots getting lighter! I also love that it’s vegan, cruelty-free, & free from parabens, silicones, & fragrance. 2. I love the concept of Shayde Beauty - it’s nice to know that it was designed for skin with melanin & the specific issues that can cause. I was interested in the ingredients in the Vitamin C serum - I haven’t noticed a stark difference in my skin yet, but I do feel like it has subtly evened out the color and feels slightly smoother! Overall it feels like a nice daily routine / habit to keep my skin healthy. 📷: @startupgirldaily @shojivankuzumi
