It’s #bivisibilityday so here’s some reminders about bisexuality: 💖 It doesn’t mean attraction to men and women - it’s attraction to your own gender and different genders. Bisexuality is inclusive of trans and GNC folks and always has been! 💜 You do not need to have dated or slept with someone of your own gender in order to identify as bisexual. 💙 Bisexual people are not more likely to cheat in relationships. Bisexuality also doesn’t inherently translate to being non-monogamous. You can be bi and monogamous and your identity is still valid! I came out as #bi when I was 19 despite having multiple queer sexual experiences for years before then. Compulsory heterosexuality kept me in the closet for a long time and representation is what finally got me out. I finally realized that my bisexuality wasn’t a phase - but my heterosexuality was. I am so proud to be #bisexual especially as a non-binary human. Bisexuality is beautiful, expansive, diverse, and inclusive! Bisexual people have shaped history, art, literature, and culture more than most people think and I love weeks like #bisexualawarenessweek so we can celebrate those contributions and highlight those who are making waves now. So happy Bi Visibility Day to all the incredible bisexual humans out there - whether you’re out or still in the closet, your identity is real, valid, and I love you. 💖💜💙
