Matt did not intend for his proposal to Rhali to go viral. In fact, he didn’t know the cameras were still rolling after she scored the winning goal of her final match and he strode onto the pitch and got down on one knee. (Google it if you feel like having a happy cry.) Rhali had announced the night before that she would be retiring to support him as he underwent treatment for brain cancer. She’d proposed to him twice that week already and he’d just laughed. Turns out he had plans of his own. These two got in touch soon after to ask me to photograph their wedding and I couldn’t be more excited! They travelled up to Bellingen last month and I showed them around and snapped a few frames of them in pure bliss mode. Oh how we laughed.
