It is as precious as life itself.” “The Nature of Sound” couldn’t be more precious to me, and it was a joy and an honor to bring it to life for the 2024 Student Choreography Show!! I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to develop this show alongside my peers—dancers I’ve respected and been inspired by for the past three years—and under the guidance of Shadoe Brandt and Alana Martin. It reminded me how vital the performing arts are to connecting with one another and empowered me to be a more well-rounded choreographer, dancer, and human. To my cast: thank you for your dedication, joy, trust, and readiness to experiment. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to stage my first tap piece on, especially one I’ve been dreaming about for so long—you all inspire me to no end and never fail to make me smile!! I am so, SO proud of you and can’t wait to see where life takes you next!! Another special thank you to @peyton.rucker for the INCREDIBLE lighting for my piece—I couldn’t have brought my piece to life the way I hoped to without your work of genius. But for now...
