Design icons. Originally commissioned as outdoor seating in 1958, the Eames Aluminium Group has been in demand ever since. It’s uncanny how a chair designed in 1958 as outdoor seating still manages to look both classic and contemporary in twenty-first century interiors. Likewise, the Toio floor lamp, designed by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Flos, is an Italian design classic from 1962. The Toio Floor Lamp is an experimental combination of playful design and industrial warehouse aesthetics, and it was inspired by the works of the French avant-garde artist Marcel Duchamp.
