June 23, 2022 - the 50th anniversary of Title IX, 37 words that have shaped my life and the lives of girl and women athletes across the country, because giving girls the opportunity to play allows them to find a community, to develop resilience & confidence, and for many to get an education. Fortune estimates that while only 6% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women, 90% of them participated in sport at some point in their life and 54% competed at the college level... girls drop out of sport at a rate 2x that of boys at the age of 14 and girls of color in urban and rural areas drop out twice as quickly. The world is missing out on leaders we surely need. I am extremely proud of the work my team and I @voiceinsport have been doing over the past year and am thankful for @senchrismurphy and @repadams who will be sponsoring our Title IX reform bill the Fair Play for Women Act 2022. This bill will uphold the integrity of Title IX and serves as a reminder that while we have come far...we still have a long way to go 💙 every girl has a Title IX story - let’s fill the next 50 years with good ones #morevisforix
