You can find me in his stories today, and @aziedee every other day. I’m AfroIndigenous - Black American and Pamunkey Tribe. Our tribe is in Virginia and famous for one thing - Pocahontas. But we should also be famous for being the only tribe with an uninterrupted 400-year treaty tradition with the white man. Every year we give a whole-ass deer to the Governor of Virginia, cause unlike y’all, we don’t break a treaty. I’ve written for a lot of shows — Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Sweetbitter, Harlem, Girls5Eva — but this is the only room with a big Indigenous writing staff. So it’s the only room I haven’t had to explain frybread to, and who don’t mind my many maple syrup jokes.
