Did you know that the first photography award I won was for photos taken when I was 13 years old? These photos of my friends backstage before a performance won at the NAACP ACT-SO competition. The photos were taken on a digital point and shoot camera, as I didn’t start working with a DSLR until years later. I really like these photos because they capture the backstage chaos before a performance that’s never seen by the audience.
