Super grateful that I’ve been able to play music for so long past high school and college. I’m in my 30s now and if not for @mikelovemusic I probably would not be playing trombone right now. It’s thanks to Mike who forces me to keep my chops up and be even better than ever before. So much so that I feel it’s necessary to invest in serious gear for the road and any time he calls on the Full Circle to assemble. Mike introduced me to @empireears and I could not be any more happy about these IEMs. As a horn player I’ve always dreaded having to play with headphones let alone in-ears because it sounds like I’m muffled! I always needed to keep one ear open to hear myself acoustically, which ended up messing up my ears at the end of the night. Empire Ears are different. I had my first gig with them tonight and the response range is very superior! I can hear the brassy overtones and the natural acoustic vibrations of the trombone which is super important to me and most brass players. It feels like I’m not wearing any headphones or in-ears at all! The model I’m using is their top of the line product, the Odin. It’s super important I can hear myself in the finest detail so that I can play my finest when I’m on stage with Mike. These custom in-ears are worth every penny for anyone who regularly performs on stage and want to hear everything. Literally everything. Especially brass players that need to hear themselves as naturally as possible. Going forward I will continue to play trombone with Mike Love for as long as I can.
