Hurricane Fiona made landfall in Puerto Rico over the weekend, leaving all of Puerto Rico without power and being hit by torrential downpours, catastrophic floods, and the possibility of mudslides. The category one storm hit Puerto Rico just days before the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Maria. ⁠ ⁠ Fiona is now making a second landfall in the Dominican Republic, and the National Hurricane Center has warned there could be more “catastrophic flooding.” A flood watch is also in effect for the U.S. Virgin Islands and Haiti.⁠ ⁠ We’ve compiled a list of grassroots organizations that you can donate to as they will be able to support those in need.
