This first issue of DADA Magazine embodies the spirit of radicalism and counterculture present in the word DADA, across art history and as a spiritual and societal concept. A supporting exhibition, currently on view with DADA Gallery at Cromwell Place, elaborates on themes and interrogations found in this first issue. Particularly through the lens of a new generation of African artists, the magazine and exhibition focus on contemporary image-making, free of restrictions on what can and cannot be expressed and visualized.
