The supermodel—known for her work on #VictoriasSecret and #Chanel—talks to #GrittyPrettyMagazine as she prepares for her greatest job yet, which is imminent: motherhood. “I cannot wait to meet my baby boy,” said the 31-year-old. “Having a complication-free pregnancy is a privilege and the entire experience has made me appreciate women and mothers so much more. We bring life into this world and I really have a newfound respect for women.” The Pakistani-Saudi Arabian-Lithuanian-Australian model admits she feels “very lucky and grateful” to have worked throughout her pregnancy—even taking to the amfAR Gala runway during Cannes Film Festival with her pregnant belly proudly on display. "Models used to be told that when you hit 25 years of age, you've aged and your career is over," she said. "If you're pregnant, well, you might never work again. A lot of female models probably made life decisions then as to when they would start their families based on that pressure. Thankfully, things are different in today's world. To be where I am right now; a woman of colour, pregnant, talking about my pregnancy and showing my pregnant body as a model, I feel very lucky and grateful."
