Howdy friends, after five years of intense rumination (ok obsession) I'm thrilled to finally introduce: Fairtree.org - we pay people to plant and manage trees in their own communities. @fair_tree Using mobile tools like the Treetracker app we are able to photograph, map, track and fund the planting and management of new trees, pretty much anywhere. We recently wrapped up the first round of a project here in Samburu, Kenya - where we were able to employ a dozen people to regenerate over 10,000 acacia trees in a period of about 3 weeks (much faster then we had anticipated!). Our growers are paying their kid's school fees, buying clothes and food for their families, paying rent and investing in their own education with their earnings. What's better, we've photographed and mapped every single tree! We have dozens more growers trained up and ready to go, and we have several new project areas planned for 2020. We'll really need sustained and creative help getting the word out there and supporting these growers. If you like what we're doing please share it.
