Literally went all around the world and landed back in Lewisham. I’m just about hanging on, guys. I mean that in all senses. My body is beyond exhausted, my mind is fried, and my soul is bruised and sore from trying to keep shit together. My nervous system is like a big old siren going off on one. But that’s the balance of living out life long dreams and travelling (literally) around the world. We flew from London to Kuala Lumpur (for a bit) then to Sydney, then after a night and a day, onto Melbourne. Less than 24 hours later we flew to Wellington in Aotearoa, where we had an evening and a full day, then onto Auckland, and 16 hours later to Tokyo. A few days of exploring, acclimatising, and getting fluent in Japanese, then a bullet train to Osaka. A few days out in the sticks. Back to Tokyo. Flew to LA. Drove up California to play the legendary @montereyjazzfestival Despite the severe stress, I’m feeling truly grateful to do what I do, and do it with who I do it with. Shouts out to the team around the world, but most importantly to the band. We can spend months seeing only each other with only minimal bickering, and I think that’s really fucking special. We can never decide on a movie to watch that we’ll all enjoy, but whatever. Biggest shouts to everyone who came to the shows. For you to care about my music from the other side of the world, where time, gravity, and seasons are literally flipped... I’m not sure I’ll ever fully comprehend what that means.
