@sarah_lee_archie came to me back in 2019, feeling like she was spinning her wheels in the gym, suffering from health issues around her adrenals, cortisol and thyroid. Like many gals in her forties, she had been noticing weight gain at her midsection, a loss of strength, and just a general feeling that no matter what she tried she just couldn’t get her body to respond the way she wanted it to. Sounds familiar, right? I can’t say it enough, most of what we consider to be age-related declines in our physical health are actually due to lifestyle. Sarah was already following a “healthy” lifestyle, working out with a personal trainer 3 x week and following a good diet. Yet she wasn’t getting great outcomes. This is such a common problem for women in their forties and beyond. It’s my mission in life to change this narrative, and that is why I created @thewonderwomenofficial coaching academy. Each year we cultivate the best female coaches to get out there and coach my methodologies to other women. My coaches work as a team, and we have regular performance reviews to make sure we are always learning and becoming better. Too often coaches treat the 40+ crowd like they are “broken”. Too often coaches “dumb down” training and nutrition planning for the older crowd. I don’t do that. I seek to empower women to become athletes, to really own their nutrition as an athlete, and to learn to become mentally tough to create the life they want for themselves. 2. After the cut we always reverse diet to maintenance. That means we slowly bring calories up and reduce the energy deficit from cardio and steps until the athlete achieves a nice homeostasis. Then it’s up to the woman if she wants to try a build (to be followed by a subsequent cut) or if she prefers to stay at maintenance but use progressive overload in the gym to continue to create some nice body recomposition. Think outside the box. Dare to dream big, dream beyond “diet culture” and “menopause culture”.
