In celebration of Juneteenth, SEB (@dotseb) participated in @applemusic’s 2022 initiative ‘Freedom Songs’, a collection of commissioned work from black creatives, sharing either original compositions or covers of songs that speak to the holiday. Chicagoan SEB covered @chancetherapper and @nosajthing’s “Paranoia,” part of Chance’s breakthrough project ‘Acid Rap’. SEB spoke in an interview with @hanumanwelch on @applemusic’s ALT CTRL radio about his choice to cover “Paranoia”, his overall vision of artistry, and hinted at more music to come. SEB told @applemusic: “I picked ‘Paranoia’ because it just brings me back to Chicago,” SEB says. “I first heard that song when I started traveling to the South Side for school, so that really made it hit hard. It was two very different environments going from the North Side to the South Side every day.
