Yesterday we hosted STARS for their Rescue on the River fundraiser, with some incredible volunteers. The event raised over $215,000 for STARS, and it was an incredible experience. STARS stands for Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society. They are dedicated to providing a safe, rapid, highly specialized emergency medical transport system for the critically ill and injured. We attended the gala afterwards and got to meet the founder, as well as the CEO, flight nurses and pilots. It was such an honour to be in the room and hear some very inspiring stories. We are so privileged to live in a country that has such great health care, but further more to live in Edmonton, where we have direct access to STARS, that save lives that otherwise would not make it.
