yMusic is obsessed with wordplay, and have a number of incomprehensible references in our regular banter. When we started writing music together, we suddenly had an opportunity to apply our nonsensical verbal strategies toward a slightly useful end: song titles! This piece began with a quiet and slowly emerging pizzicato texture, which struck us as an inverse of “petering out.” As soon as the words “peter in” were uttered, we began to dream of a roadside oasis named the Peter Inn, and the rest is history!
