Making sure we don’t run out of your favorite American Whiskeys is a complicated job. Just ask Patrick, who helps us plan and manage our barrel inventory. “We have almost 1.9 million barrels in our rickhouses that are used in dozens of brands, each with its own enthusiastic fan base and individual attributes. It takes a lot of work to make sure we are taking all variables into account in order to keep the whiskey flowing!” Patrick and his team help make sure we’re distilling enough to meet future demands. As you might imagine, there’s a lot of planning and problem solving involved, as well as the occasional whiskey tasting. Patrick’s favorite? Elijah Craig Small Batch. “It is such a consistently great whiskey,” he says. “It is my go-to drink for sipping on the back deck at the end of a long day.”
