DIET CULTURE
While I’m not a registered dietician or a GI doc or a food scientist, I am highly trained to detect medical BS. And my radar is going bonkers with this one.
I talk to patients daily about how they feel about their bodies and their relationships with food, and much of the time their perspective on both are pretty effed up. It’s not their fault, we’ve been fed this toxic messaging our entire lives.
One day peanut butter is good and the next day it’s poison. And you can substitute “peanut butter” with literally any other food. We need to stop the food shaming. This type of messaging is toxic and so is this dude. I’m not even going to look at his profile, but I bet I know exactly what kind of toxicity he is selling.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that aside from an actual allergy, there is no real reason to avoid peanut butter. Now, if we want to fight over crunchy vs smooth, well that’s a whole other argument, and I am prepared to take you down.
Other nut butters are certainly delicious and nutritious, but they’re also expensive and not nearly as accessible as good ole peanut butter.
So unless, it was recalled from CostCo, eat the damn peanut butter.
And in case you couldn’t hear me due to IG’s auto-caption censor, I said “fuck off”
Tagging some experts to check me.
