This one is dedicated to my angel, my Popo, my grandmother, Zelie. The definition of pure love, a true Earth Angel during every waking moment she had in this realm, and now our angel watching over us everyday ✨ Tears roll down my face as I write this and reminisce on all of the amazing memories I have with her, all of the incredible knowledge and values she left us with. The Stephanotis flowers used on this mask were all picked from the same vines that have woven through the fence at her house for my entire life. The same vines that she taught me how to make my first rope style Stephanotis lei with as a little kid. Just the fact that she had enough patience to teach a young child how to string a double rope style Stephanotis lei deserves an applause in my opinion 👏🏽😅 These beautiful, fragrant white flowers will always have a special place in my heart. My grandmother was the most pleasant, kind, selfless person in the entire world. Anytime anyone asked who my role model was or who I wanted to be when I grew up, I’d say “my Popo.” I strive to live like her everyday. I strive to be as loving and positive as her, to always walk in a room with a smile and light up someone’s life in some way. I wouldn’t have anything that I have in life if it wasn’t for her, and definitely wouldn’t be who I am without her influence. So this one’s for you Pope’s, I love and miss you 💫🤍 The solid white “angel wing” sections are made up of the individual petals from open flowers. The rest of the mask is covered with unopened Stephanotis buds in various stages of development. The younger, smaller buds were a darker green color, and got progressively lighter and closer to white as they mature. White fluff from dried stephanotis seed pods on faceted Rainbow Moonstone pendants for an otherworldly effect. This was probably my favorite mask to wear, the smell of these flowers was pleasantly intoxicating and I couldn’t get enough of it. My studio smelled heavenly!
