“It’s okay to be scared” ‘MARV and the Pool of Peril’ is a great book written by Alex Falase-Koya, illustrated by Paula Bowles the book takes us on a journey of fear, bravery, friendship and honesty. Marvin is scared of water and finds all the excuses not to go swimming, until something interesting happens! I love that it teaches children to talk about fear positively. MARV and the pool of Peril teaches his readers to find the courage within themselves before suiting up to save the world. It’s a great story for young children. Eli felt brave and confident and absolutely loved seeing a character that looked like him. As soon as I showed him the book he wanted to be just like MARV! #marv @oxfordchildrens
