Happy AAPI Heritage month 2021!!!!! To close out the month I had to post something to celebrate. I've been putting it off because so much has happened in the last year that has made me ask myself: is there a word to describe feeling intense anger and heart-breaking sadness at the same time? When my socials were flooded with evidence of hatred against us every single day I was overwhelmed. I had to tune out and step away just to breath. But out of this we emerge with solidarity and strength in our community. We now have a voice. We are silent no more and we will be heard. For those of us that feel our otherness every single day this month is to celebrate us. It was 4 years ago almost to the day that the photo was taken on the beach while filming CRA of a bunch of Asians who wanted to show everyone in the world that it was okay to look like us.
