#WorldMentalHealthDay 🌎🧠 Today is World Mental Health Day. 1 in 4 people suffer from a mental health illness, but sometimes it can be invisible. Let’s keep this going to raise awareness and let everybody know it’s ok to not be ok. Your feelings matter, they are valid and you are NOT alone. Use today as an opportunity to check in with loved ones, colleagues anyone you meet because we have no idea what they're going through and who needs our support. You’d be surprised what some people can hide behind a smile & funny demeanor. Right now we need LOVE & SUPPORT more than ever! My name is Charles and I’ve suffered from anxiety, depression, & suicidal ideations. I even tried to take my own life in high school. I’ve never really talked publicly about this but I believe that it’s important to be vulnerable & honest with you all. You are NOT alone. I’m a big advocate for not only removing the stigma behind mental health but also what are the next steps we can take to help support one another. Being overwhelmed and exhausted has become all too common these days. This is because the world isn't set up to protect people's mental health. You should never feel guilty for taking the time to center yourself and care for your well-being. Take a minute today to BREATHE with me. My heart goes out to anyone and everyone in the world struggling right now. Something as simple as stopping to take a few breaths can have a massively positive impact. Start a gratitude journal, be active, replace negativity with positivity. Remember, you are allowed to be BOTH a MASTERPIECE and a WORK IN PROGRESS at the same time. I recommend this prayer for anyone going through a difficult time right now. Dear God, In moments of anxiety and overwhelming fear, we turn to you as our refuge and strength. Calm the storm within our hearts and minds, and replace our anxiety with Your peace. Help us to cast our burdens upon You, for You care for us. Grant us the strength to trust in Your plan, even when we cannot see the way forward.
