After an intense bushwhack, this thing was no joke, we found the trail to take us up to this viewpoint of Alsek Lake and it's numerous icebergs! It was so stunning to see this incredible place from up high! Crazy enough, due to climate change, the Grand Plateau glacier, which partially feeds the lake from the south side of it (right side of the back of the lake in the full image), is receding so much that very soon, the flow of the Alsek River will go into the lake and flow out from where the Grand Plateau glacier is. This will change the outflow of the Alsek River into the ocean by about close to 20 miles and completely drying up that's ironically called "Dry Bay"!
