As a very young and naive 18 year old I started my RGN training at the Combined Training Institute at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff 36 years ago! I will always be grateful to the NHS for training me to such a high standard, my nurse training in Cardiff was excellent and paying for all my training from my RGN training, my DPSN, all my CPD study days, my tropical nursing course and my BSc Health Studies and Occupational health diploma at the RCN. Nursing is very different today and I admire anyone wanting to train and those working in the NHS under current conditions. Having a nursing background makes me quite unique within our industry and means I can help so many people to regain their sexual function and reclaim their sex life. We also work with amazing HCPs who are so proactive in wanting to help their patients enjoy better sex 😊 We need to ensure that our fantastic NHS is properly funded, all HCPs and support workers are properly paid and respected for the incredible work that they do from the most junior cleaner to the leading consultant. We lived in New York when I was pregnant with Milly, thankfully we had insurance ( it was £££££!) and I've seen just how much people have to pay who don't have insurance or who couldn't access treatment because they couldn't pay😬 Everyone is treated in the NHS, we never want a healthcare system like the USA!
