This week we took the plastic protection off the kitchen medallion at #dreaminfortgreene in order to start the skim coating work. Seeing it again, after it has been covered up the past few months, reminds us of the skill and artistry that goes into such detailed work and the craftspeople that do it! Construction is no joke, especially in one of the craziest places of them all, NYC. This plaster work was handmade back in the late 1800s, but in 2022 it’s being brought back to life by men (and WOMEN!) who who have carried on the trade. We’re not only honored to preserve it but we’re so excited for the next life it will have and the joy it will bring to everyone who sees it.
