I almost skipped this trend, but looking back at 2016 reminded me how one decision can quietly change everything. In 2016, I didn’t have it all figured out. But I trusted the next step. That year included career milestones I once only dreamed about, and a decision that felt terrifying at the time: leaving my hospital job after 5+ years (the only job I knew!). What I didn’t know then was that it would open the door to the next phase of my career. A reminder I come back to often (and share with my clients): you don’t need the whole plan. You just need to take the next aligned step. If you’re standing at a crossroads right now, this is your sign that uncertainty doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong. It might mean you’re growing.
