20 years ago, Halle Berry made history by becoming the first Black woman to be awarded the best-actress Oscar, she reflected on the magnitude of this moment in her acceptant speech where she dedicated her award to POC actresses, who are frequently overlooked and underappreciated. As well as Halle herself making history, her Elie Saab Fall 2001/2 gown was heralded by critics, and is now considered as one of the most notable Oscar dresses of all time.
