The united states government has vowed to help investigate the gruesome murder of Eldoret based fashion designer and model Edwin Chiloba ( Kiprotich Kiptoo). United States Department of states spokesman Ned Price said they are ready to offer any assistance needed to ensure Chiloba gets justice. "Ultimately the ultimate act of intolerance has no place in free and open societies. We made the point last week that we urge and expect the Kenyans to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into his death. And of course, if there’s anything we can do to assist, we stand ready to do that." Ned Price said that it is wrong to be violent to anyone including members of LGBTQ community. He added that since Chiloba was an activist, those who benefited from his leadership will be greatly affected. "There were so many in that community in Kenya who benefited from his leadership, from his visibility, from his support. Violence against LGBTQI+ persons or anyone, of course, is unacceptable. We’ve sent our condolences to his family, to his loved ones, but also to the LGBTQI+ community in Kenya during their time of mourning." Chiloba's murder has elicited debate in the international scene- with international publications such as CNN, Washington Post, New York Times, and The Guardian. Five suspects are also in police custody after prosecution requested to have them detained for 21 more days to allow room for investigations.
