I had no idea in January but it turned out that 2020 was dedicated to only one person in my life, this sweet baby angel. The girl who lived life with so much joy and freedom until she couldn’t anymore. She learned to hide every part of herself because scary people showed her that who she was didn’t deserve reverence. So she hid in big clothes and got as small as possible to make it through. So I dedicated this year to showing her that she was strong not weak and she did a beautiful job dealing with things she shouldn’t have had to. This is the scariest thing I’ve ever typed on my phone by far but if there’s anything my friends, my partner, and my therapist (lol) have shown me it’s that no part of me needs to hide anymore ❤️ and if you relate to any of this I hope you know you are far from alone and you make so much sense.
