IG MOTHERHOOD VS REAL MOTHERHOOD My 4 year old took this pic of me this morning. Awesome, thanks buddy. But it’s a perfect reminder of what parenting really looks like vs what we often show on social media (swipe) Life is messy hair and under eye bags. But despite how we feel about our own appearance, your kids still think you’re beautiful no matter what. 4 years ago when I was postpartum with kid 2, I was severely deconditioned from months of immobilization and deep in recovery from 2 major surgeries, and now caring for a newborn. I physically felt terrible. I watched the royal wedding of Harry and Meghan with my oldest (then 3.5 years old). He pointed at the TV and exclaimed “Look mama, it’s you. You’re a princess.” I wish we could all see ourselves the way our kids see us. Don’t ever let social media make you feel less than. Momming is hard. You are beautiful. Pic credit: 1.
